An earthquake with a magnitude measuring 3.7 hit Sultan Kudarat, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said on Saturday, April 16.

The epicenter of the quake was traced 67 kilometers (km) southwest of Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat. It was recorded around 8:40 a.m., and it was tectonic in origin, indicating that it was caused by the movement of an active fault near the area.
At Intensity III, a ‘weak’ tremor was felt in Kalamansig and Lebak in Sultan Kudarat.
Meanwhile, in its initial bulletin issued at 10:35 a.m., Phivolcs said that no damage and aftershocks are expected to follow this quake.
