Fair weather, scattered rain showers in some areas on Maundy Thursday - PAGASA
By Dhel Nazario
The country will experience generally fair weather on Maundy Thursday, April 14 although some areas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers due to the trough of Typhoon "Malakas", the state weather bureau said.

According to Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio, these rains will not be as severe as the ones felt with Tropical Depression "Agaton".
Agaton, which turned into a low pressure area (LPA), dissipated on Wednesday, April 14, according to PAGASA.
Malakas, formerly 'Basyang' as of 3 a.m. was last located 1,645 kilometers (km) east of extreme Northern Luzon and continues to affect the eastern section of Visayas. Yet Aurelio said that it is no longer expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).
Malakas packs maximum sustained winds of 155 km per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 190 km heading northward. Aurelio said that it may head for Japan.
Meanwhile, cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced in the areas of Eastern Visayas, Masbate, Sorsogon, and Dinagat Islands. Residents are warned against possible flash floods or landslides during light to moderate with at times heavy rains
On the other hand, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms. Residents are likewise warned of possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms
