The Philippine Athletics Track and Field Association (PATAFA) will be sending 25 athletes to the 2022 Singapore Open Track and Field Championships scheduled on Saturday and Sunday.

The tournament is part of the team’s buildup for the upcoming Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi, Vietnam next month.
It would also be the first and last foreign exposure for the majority of the team since the pandemic limited their options in terms of training and competitions abroad.
Reigning SEAG champions William Morrison, Natalie Uy, Melvin Calano and Sarah Dequinan banner the formidable team that is also composed of nine other medalists in the 2019 SEAG edition.
Other countries competing are Malaysia and Indonesia, while Singaporean club teams are also seeing action.
Morrison will compete in shot put, Uy in pole vault, Calano in javelin and Dequinan in four events: 100 meter hurdles, long jump, high jump and javelin.
Competing in individual events are John Mantua (shot put, discus throw), Edwin Giron (800m), Mariano Masano (1500m), Rone Malipay (triple jump), Evalyn Palabrica (javelin), Harry Diones (triple jump), Janry Ubas (Long Jump, 110-meter hurdles, pole vault, 100m, discus throw, shot put), Josefa Ligmayo (100m hurdles, high jump, long jump, javelin), Alfrence Braza (1500m, 5000m) and Alvin Vergel (110m hurdles).
Frederick Ramirez, Joyme Sequita, Michael Del Prado, Alryhan Labita and Francis Medina will compete in the 4x400m relay and 400m while Medina will also see action in the 400m hurdles.
Completing the cast are Bernalyn Bejoy (400m hurdles, 4x400m), Eloisa Luzon-Medina (100m, 4x100m, 4x400m), Jessel Lumapas (400m, 4x400m, 4x100m), Maureen Schrijvers (400m, 4x400m), Melissa Escoton (100m hurdles, 4x100m) and Kat Santos (long Jump, 4x100m).
Accompanying them are coaches Dario de Rosas, Jojo Posadas, John Lozada and Jeoffrey Chua.
The PH team won 11 gold, eight silver and eight bronze medals at the 2019 SEAG.
