Marcos likens One Cebu endorsement to 'seal of good housekeeping'

CEBU CITY, Cebu–UniTeam presidential bet Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. finds that the One Cebu party endorsement acts as a “seal of good housekeeping” of sorts for the UniTeam alliance.

"It is the support that you have given Inday Sara , myself and the UniTeam, which is significant also because it is the, in a sense Cebu has given us the ‘seal of good housekeeping'," Marcos said on Tuesday, April 12 during a covenant signing between the UniTeam and provincial ruling party One Cebu.

“When we talk about unity...you have validated and reaffirmed our idea that this is what the times need, because if Cebu believes that then it must be all significant once again,” he added.

As per the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), a seal of good housekeeping is a coveted recognition among local government units (LGUs) which signifies that a governing body has been operating within the principles of “performance, accountability, transparency and participation.”

This, after One Cebu endorsed Marcos’s presidential candidacy on April 12.

He even told One Cebu President and Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia during the event that the UniTeam alliance had been waiting for the party to endorse his candidacy, saying that the endorsement had improved their chances of winning in the elections.

The local ruling party now backs both Marcos and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

With a population of 3,252,696 registered voters, Cebu is the most vote-rich province in the country.
