DepEd suspends work starting noon on Holy Wednesday
The Department of Education (DepEd) has ordered the suspension of work starting at noon on Wednesday, April 13.

Signed by Education Secretary Leonor Briones, the DepEd Memorandum No. 31 series of 2022 announced the suspension of work (half-day) in the department starting at 12 p.m. to “give sufficient time” for all DepEd officials and employees to prepare for the observance of Holy Thursday (April 14) and Good Friday (April 15).
In the memorandum, DepEd said that all employees --- including the teaching and non-teaching personnel --- are covered by the directive.
However, DepEd clarified that those offices or units --- whose functions involve the delivery of emergency services or response --- as well as those offices related to the performance of other vital services “shall be expected to render services when necessary.”
