The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) turned out to be the most trusted and approved government agency, according to a recent survey of an independent and non-commissioned survey.
The AFP garnered the highest approval and trust rating among government agencies, with 67.4 percent and 53.4 percent ratings respectively, in the First Quarter 2022 Pahayag Survey.
The survey was conducted from March 30 to April 6 and involved 1,500 respondents. The result of the survey was released on Monday, April 12.
“The Armed Forces of the Philippines welcome the Filipino people's continuous trust and confidence as shown in the 2022 Pahayag First Quarter Survey by Publicus Asia,” said Col. Ramon Zagala, AFP spokesperson.
“The survey result manifests our people's optimism with our unremitting efforts to secure peace and security, paving the way for the country's continuous development,” he added.
Gen. Andres Centino, AFP Chief of Staff, attributed the recent feat to the “dedication and sense of professionalism” of all Philippine Army, Philippine Air Force, and Philippine Navy personnel which “contribute to the growing support of the people to the military” as manifested in the Publicus survey.
"We have already built competence and mastery of what we are doing. We also have the right mix of tactics and strategies to remove the armed threats' capabilities to intimidate and extort from the people and weaken their ability to generate resources," Centino said.
Aside from the AFP, other government agencies which also obtained high trust and approval ratings also include the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Philippine Air Force, and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD);
Department of Science and Technology (DOST), Department of Public Works and Highways, Department of Tourism, Commission on Higher Education, and Department of Foreign Affairs.
