Zero case: PNP says no new, active case of Covid among personnel
For the first time since the Covid-19 pandemic hit the country, the Philippine National Police (PNP) said it has zero case so far.
PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos said that based on the latest data of their Health Service, there is neither new nor active case in the PNP as of Tuesday, April 12.
“Suffice it to say the PNP COVID-19 curve has significantly flattened with currently no new cases and zero active cases. Consistent with the prevailing national trend of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines," said Carlos.

Since March 2020, the PNP recorded 48,732 Covid cases with 129 deaths.
Since March last year, the PNP has launched an aggressive vaccination drive which resulted in almost 100 percent vaccination of its personnel.
Based on the PNP's latest data, 99.59 percent of the PNP personnel have completed the primary doses of anti-Covid vaccines while 96.43 percent of the personnel took their booster shots already.
Carlos attributed the significant improvement in Covid cases to the aggressive vaccination drive.
Active cases of Covid in the PNP dropped sharply in February after it peaked at 4,964 in January 14, 2022, a day after it logged 547 new cases.
“Despite the threats posed by this lethal virus, the PNP did not falter in performing its duty to serve and protect the people,” said Carlos.
“But this unseen enemy can still be everywhere, so let me remind our 224,362 PNP strong force to still protect themselves, maintain a healthy body, boost their immune system and regularly submit to medical check-up. There is no room for complacency,” he added.
