Taking a leap into the beauty business

Dr. Mae Anne Taberrah is not one to sit around doing nothing during her downtime. So she decided to take a leap of faith and venture into the beauty business for the first time.

She didn’t hesitate to accept the offer of Jessa Macaraig, her doctor-husband’s former secretary, to get a franchise of The Pretty You aesthetic clinic, which has 12 branches nationwide.

“I know we could trust Jessa,” said Taberrah, referring to The Pretty You’s founder-CEO, explained. So the young anesthesiologist bought a laser machine and thermage machine to remove hair pigmentations, whiten skin and get rid of unwanted hair. She also bought an RF (radio frequency) machine that removes fat in the tummy, arms and other parts of the body. An 11-in-1 machine cleans the face and performs 10 other  beauty procedures. All machines come from Korea and are therefore suited for Asian skin. It also offers intravenous drips with antioxidants, vitamin C and other nutrients. 

Like all The Pretty You clinics, Taberrah’s franchise, the eighth for the beauty business, has doctors on call (for liposuctions), health protocols, three cubicles and piped-in music. It is strategically located at the second floor of Castro Building, corner of K-1st and Luis Sianghio streets in Kamuning, Quezon City.

The staff is fully-vaccinated, and cubicles are sanitized before and after every procedure. Piped in music relaxes patient and staff, and a purifier cleans the air.

To make sure everything is done right, the staff underwent training on aesthetic procedures.

Those who want to maintain their glowing skin can buy cleansers, toners, moisturizing soaps and other beauty products especially formulated for them at the counter.

For everyone’s safety, and to reduce waiting time, clients must set an appointment Monday to Sunday, 10 am to 6 pm through The Pretty You’s Facebook page.

The Pretty You’s other branches are located in Taguig, Pasig, Mandaluyong, Cavite, Fairview, Makati, Quezon City, Malolos, Bulacan and others.
