Risa hits spread of Aika fake porn video: 'We're better than this'

Reelectionist Senator Risa Hontiveros on Tuesday, April 12 said that the issue on Aika Robredo’s fake porn video is downright "misogynistic".

‘’The Safe Spaces Act, which I authored, clearly prohibits and penalizes any misogynistic behavior even online. Pwedeng-pwedeng kasuhan ang mga nagpapakalat nitong fake video (Those who circulated the video could be charged),’’ she said.

Aika, 34, is the eldest daughter of presidential contender and opposition standard-bearer Vice President Leni Robredo.

Hontiveros stressed that it is never acceptable to use a woman’s body in an attempt to defame one’s character.

She said it is reprehensible that such debasement of womanhood has to surface during the current political campaign.

‘’I call on the Filipino public — whichever candidate you support — to condemn this dirty political tactic. I call on all candidates from all slates to do the same. Hindi ito ang diwa ng ating pagka-Pilipino. We are better than this,’’ she added.

‘’To Aika, mabuhay ka (hooray) for holding up beautifully! We are with you,’’ she said.
