Pateros, Pasig mayors sign accord to allow tricycles to carry passengers between LGUs
Pateros Mayor Miguel Ponce III and Pasig Mayor Vico Sotto signed an agreement to allow tricycles to pick up and drop off passengers to and from their respective areas without being apprehended.
Under the memorandum of agreement, the mayors will allow the passage of tricycles between their area of jurisdictions for the benefit of the public.

The mayors agreed that “out of line violation shall not be imposed on tricycles traveling within the Municipality of Pateros or City of Pasig.”
The tricycles to be allowed under the accord are those with a valid franchise and certificate of registration issued by the Land Transportation Office.
Tricycles coming from Pateros can drop off passengers in the following areas in Pasig: Barangay Buting, Immaculate Conception Cathedral Parish, Kalawaan, Pasig Mega Market, and Meralco-Sagad.
In Pasig, tricycles can pick up passengers anywhere and drop them off in any place in Pateros. The agreement states that “tricycle can only pick-up passengers from within the territorial jurisdiction for the place which issued their respective franchises.”
It added that a valid tricycle service permit issued by Pateros or Pasig is required for private chartered tricycles.
The pick-up and drop-off points of tricycles will have a dry-run of two months. In addition, it states that “within two (2) weeks thereafter, the parties will conduct an evaluation as to effect with specific recommendations to serve as basis of a permanent Memorandum of Agreement.”
“The respective Tricycle Operation and Regulatory Office (TORO) of the parties shall submit a list of agreed TODO beneficiaries including the routes for evaluation. All authorized beneficiaries shall be issued a Special Permit free of charge. An implementing Rules and Regulations shall be formulated after the dry-run period,” according to the agreement.
Among those who witnessed the signing were Pateros Councilor Allan Dennis Mangoba, Pateros Traffic chief Venancio Tolentino, Pasig police chief Col. Roman Arugay, and Pasig Tricycle Operation and Regulatory Office chief Rodel Salvador.
