One dead, one injured as tricycle runs smack into mini-dump truck in Pangasinan

ASINGAN, Pangasinan – One died and one was injured when the tricycle they were riding collided with a mini dump truck along Magilas Trail, Sitio Cabaruan, Brgy. Bantog on Monday afternoon.

The Pangasinan police reported on Tuesday that Marlon Duran, 40, lost control of the tricycle he was driving when its front tire blew out, causing the tricycle to encroach the opposite lane. For their misfortune, the tricycle collided with an arriving mini-dump truck driven by Danilo Alvarado Jr., 35, a resident of Brgy. Cabaritan, San Miguel, Pangasinan.

Both Duran and his passenger, 40-year old Villaflor Balano, sustained injuries in the different parts of the body, but the latter’s injuries proved fatal as he was pronounced dead on arrival at the Asingan Community Hospital.

Both Duran and Balano are residents of Brgy. Namagbagan, Sta. Maria, Pangasinan.

The driver of the mini dump truck sustained no injuries.

Both vehicles were damaged and are now under custody of the Police station for proper disposition.
