Miss Universe 2017 Demi Leigh Nel-Peters Tebow will be one of the hosts for the upcoming Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Competition, which will be held at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City on April 30.

Aside from that, one of the things that she's looking forward to during her visit to the Philippines is her trip to Davao City where her husband American football star Tim Tebow established the Tebow Cure Hospital which provides physical and spiritual healing to children.

"I’m definitely very honored to be invited to host this year. The Philippines is a very special place for my husband and me. It was the first country I visited as Miss Universe 2017, and my husband was actually born in the Philippines, so it’s very close to both of our hearts," said Demi, an interview by Voltaire Tayag, Miss Universe Philippines, Director of Communications.

"We have various philanthropic efforts in the Philippines where we’re passionate about fighting for people that can’t fight for themselves. One of our favorite places is the Tebow CURE Hospital in Davao City. The Tebow CURE Hospital offers physical and spiritual healing to children in need of orthopedic surgeries.

"Another special place close to our hearts is the Village of Hope in partnership with Compassionate Hope that provides a safe and loving home for children who were victims of Online Sexual Exploitation of Children. I’m excited to see everyone from the MUPh organization as well as visit some of our philanthropic organizations during our stay!" Demi also said.

Asked about her fondest memories of the Philippines, Demi said: "One of my fondest memories of the Philippines is when I visited the Philippines for the first time as Miss Universe. Getting to know the people, the culture, and eating halo-halo for the first time were all such an amazing experience. I also got to visit Batanes which was beautiful, and just getting to explore the area was truly memorable. Another fond memory was getting to film campaigns with Pia and Iris, my fellow Miss Universe sisters, who I’m so excited to be co-hosting with this year!"

Demi said that she is excited to be reunited with some of her Miss Universe Philippines family and other Miss Universe sisters, like Pia, Catriona and Iris, and also meet Harnaaz for the first time.

"I’m excited to be able to speak to all the finalists about the importance of purpose, and to learn more about their advocacies and philanthropic work. I can’t wait to learn more about the things they are passionate about because I truly believe each of us is born with a purpose and a goal in this life, and our purpose is usually not about ourselves at all. It’s truly how we use our purpose and passion to impact our country, our communities and ultimately our world. All of these 16 finalist have so much to offer, and I’m excited to see how they will use what they have to impact their communities and country," she also said.

Demi said she hopes to taste mango, sticky rice, and halo-halo once again. "The Philippines definitely have some of the best mangos I’ve ever tasted."
