The League of Provinces of the Philippines (LPP) has picked six senatorial bets that it will support, and Sorsogon Governor Francis ‘’Chiz’’ Escudero just so happened to top the list.
Reelectionist Senator Joel Villanueva showed via Viber a letter from Governor Presbitero Velasco Jr., LPP national president, dated April 4, 2022.
The Viber message transmitted to Senate reporters showed the five other LPP choices.
They are, from number two to six: Senators Sherwin Gatchalian, Villanueva, and Juan Miguel ‘’Migz’’ Zubiri; former Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Secretary Mark Villar; and Antique Rep. Loren Legarda.
The Velasco letter stated that ‘’As LPP national leader, I urge you to consider supporting our League’s ‘common’ candidates for the Senate based on our survey.’’
‘’I hope that you can also consider including them in your list of senatorial candidates whom you will be supporting this May 9, 2022 national and local elections,’’ it said.
‘’We need more allies in the 19th Congress to help the League push for vital policies that would advance our legislative agenda and protect gains we have achieving in promoting genuine fiscal and local autonomy of all local government units, particularly to help secure our rightful share in the national taxes,’’ it added.
