The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Tuesday, April 12 said that tropical depression Agaton (international name: Megi) remained almost stationary over Llorente, eastern Samar, while typhoon Basyang (international name: Malakas) has exited the Philippine area of responsibility.

PAGASA, in its latest bulletin, said that “Agaton” was located in the vicinity of Llorente, eastern Samar with maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 75 kph.
Tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) no. 1 is still in effect over eastern Samar, Samar, northern Samar, Biliran, Leyte, southern Leyte, Camotes Island, and Dinagat Islands due to tropical depression Agaton.
“Agaton is forecast to continue moving slowly eastward within the next 6 to 12 hours. It is forecast to deteriorate into a remnant low within the next 24 hours,” said PAGASA.
'Basyang' intensifies, exits PAR
Meanwhile, typhoon Basyang has further intensified and it is now outside PAR.
Its eye was last spotted 1,400 km east of central Luzon. It exited PAR at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, at least three hours after it entered the Philippine boundary.
