Robredo, family targeted for 'demolition', says Trillanes

Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV on Monday, April 11, warned Vice President Leni Robredo’s volunteers and supporters against a demolition job aimed at her family.

Though he did not drop names, the Magdalo leader, who is a senatorial candidate under Robredo’s ticket, said that attacks against the Robredo family will get stronger.

“Simula na ang paninira sa pamilya ni Leni Robredo. Ibig sabihin, palakas na nang palakas (The attacks against the family of Leni Robredo has started. This means, it is getting stronger),” Trillanes tweeted.

“Patuloy nating labanan ang pambabastos dito sa ating lipunan. Ituloy natin ang laban hanggang magtagumpay tayo. (Let us continue fighting against profanity in our society. Let us continue the fight until we win),” he added.

The former senator accompanied his Twitter post with hashtag #ProtectLeniAndFamily.

Aika is the eldest daughter of Robredo and the late former Interior secretary Jesse Robredo.

Reports about purported attacks against the Robredo sisters—Aika, Tricia, and Jillian—started making rounds on social media site Twitter over the weekend.

Supporters of the Vice President said that a planned demolition job will be launched against the Robredo sisters after Holy Week.

This is not the first time Aika was targeted by malicious reports. In 2017, false rumors were posted on social media sites about her being arrested by the police while studying at the prestigious Harvard University.
