Mayor Vico on campaign sorties: People should clearly hear your platforms, plans
As the May 2022 elections draw near, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said that delivering and explaining a candidate's plans and platforms to the public clearly is the key to an effective campaign sortie.

In his Facebook post on Sunday, April 10, Sotto shared his experience during one of his campaign sorties as he seeks a second term as mayor of Pasig City.
Sotto was asked why he does not prefer building grand setups, inviting artists, and performing dance numbers during his sorties. (First, what matters the most during the campaign is for the people to hear your message and platforms. Second, as a candidate, we must avoid spending too much. You already know why)," Sotto said.

"Kasama ito sa misyon natin para baguhin ang political landscape ng ating lungsod. Habang tumataas ang antas ng diskurso at kapag hindi na kailangan gumastos ng milyon-milyon para manalo, tataas din ang kalidad ng mga namumuno sa atin (This is part of our mission in changing the political landscape of our city. As the level of discussion increases and when there's no need for candidates to spend millions just to win, the quality of leadership will also improve)," he added.
The mayor expressed hope that when the time comes for the next generation of leaders of Pasig, there will be no need for a famous name or large funds to win. Instead, a good personality and excellent skills and leadership will be the metrics the people will use in choosing the leaders that they will vote for.

The Sotto-led Team Giting ng Pasig launched its kick-off campaign on March 25.
Sotto said he pursued his re-election bid in order to continue instituting systemic changes that would shift the culture of fear and corruption in the city into a culture of fairness and inclusivity.
He cited his advocacy against government malpractice involving syndicate groups and their affiliations and influences in past local government operations.
If re-elected, Sotto said he will enhance the health and social services programs that he has started amid the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly the more efficient allocation of local government funds for community programs.
To ramp up the progressive changes in the city, Sotto also urged voters to elect those who are “trustworthy, goodhearted, have integrity, came to politics with the right intentions, and whose principles are aligned in terms of cleansing the government from corruption.”
Running in the upcoming elections with Sotto are Robert “Dodot” Jaworski Jr. for vice mayor and re-electionist Congressman Roman Romulo.
