Operatives from the Northern Police District (NPD) arrested a man wanted for child abuse along Pampano Street, Brgy. Longos, Malabon City on Monday morning, April 11.
Lt. Colonel Jay Dimaandal, NPD Special Operations Unit (DSOU) chief, identified the suspect as Gilbert Casimero, 43, a resident of Brgy. Longos, in Malabon City.
The DSOU conducted an intelligence-driven operation by the virtue of a warrant of arrest for violation of Section 10 (Anti-child abuse) of the Republic Act (RA) 7610 or the “Special Protection of Children Against Child Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act” issued by Judge Abigail Santos Domingo-Laylo of the Regional Trial Court Branch 4 Malabon City on Feb. 22, 2022.
The suspect was arrested along Pampano Street at around 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
Casimero will be charged for violation of Section 10 of the RA 7610, it. added.
Police said that the suspect was brought to the DSOU office after his arrest for proper disposition and was detained at the NPD Custodial Facility while waiting for the commitment order to be issued by the court of origin.
