The Department of Health (DOH) has recorded 1,906 new confirmed Covid-19 from April 4 to 10, making its average daily cases 29 percent lower compared to the past week.
The DOH recorded an average of 272 cases of Covid-19 per day.

From March 28 to April 3, the health department recorded 2,679 Covid-19 cases.
In the new cases, DOH said none of them were classified as serious or critical cases.
The agency said 428 have died due to Covid-19, but noted that such did not transpire this year alone.
“Of the 428 deaths, 31 occurred in April 2022 (7.2%), 65 in March 2022 (15.2%), 45 in February 2022 (10.5%), 51 in January 2022 (11.9%), 6 in December 2021 (1.4%), 2 in November 2021 (0.5%), 17 in October 2021 (4.0%), 34 in September 2021 (7.9%), 33 in August 2021 (7.7%), 7 in July 2021 (1.6%), 6 in June 2021 (1.4%), 11 in May 2021 (2.6%), 19 in April 2021 (4.4%), 16 in March 2021 (3.7%), 8 in February 2021 (1.9%), 5 in January 2021 (1.2%), 5 in December 2020 (1.2%), 8 in November 2020 (1.9%), 9 in October 2020 (2.1%), 11 in September 2020 (2.6%), 13 in August 2020 (3.0%), 14 in July 2020 (3.3%), 10 in June 2020 (2.3%), and 2 in May 2020 (0.5%),” the DOH clarified.
The DOH reminded the public to always practice minimum health and safety protocols despite the low number of cases recorded by the agency.
It can be recalled that the World Health Organization (WHO) recently warned of the possible surge in the number of Covid-19 cases in the coming months, probably after the polls.
The WHO told the government to prepare for the possible rise in the number of Covid-19 cases as gatherings due to Ramadan, Holy Week, and election-related activities will take place from March to May.
