A total of 707 Covid-19 patients with severe and critical conditions were hospitalized last Sunday, April 10, the Department of Health (DOH) said.
DOH data showed that 543 patients are currently occupying intensive care unit (ICU) beds for patients with Covid-19.

According to the health department, the country has a total of 2,951 ICU beds dedicated to Covid-19 patients. Currently, only 18.4 percent is occupied.
Meanwhile, DOH 16.4 percent of the 24,689 ICU beds for non-Covid-19 patients are occupied.
The number of new Covid-19 cases in the country remains low. In fact, the DOH only recorded 1,906 confirmed Covid-19 from April 4 to 10.
Despite such, the DOH said the public must remain cautious as the Covid-19 pandemic is still not over, adding that health and safety protocols such as wearing of face masks must still be strictly observed.
Recently, the World Health Organization (WHO) warned the country of the possible surge in the number of Covid-19 cases in the coming months, probably after the national and local elections.
