Ormoc's Richard, Lucy Gomez endorse UniTeam bets

Actor-couple Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez and Leyte 4th District Rep. Lucy Torres-Gomez have come out with their support for UniTeam presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and vice presidential bet Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

“We always say that it is an act of God, the presidency is destiny. And if it is in God’s will for this man to be our next President, I know that he will be the best that we ever have in this country,” said Rep. Torres-Gomez during a UniTeam sortie in the Ormoc City Superdome, Leyte on Saturday, April 9.

Mayor Gomez also introduced Marcos as the country’s next president during the sortie.

Rep. Torres-Gomez is running for Ormoc City mayor while Mayor Gomez is running for a seat in the House.

Meanwhile, the following region officials also came out with support for the UniTeam tandem: Leyte Gov. Leopoldo Petilla; Southern Leyte Gov. Damian Mercado; Southern Leyte Vice Gov. Christopherson Yap; Ormoc Vice Mayor Leo Locsin; Merida Mayor Rolando Villasencio; Matag-ob Mayor Mike Torrevillas; Palompon Mayor Georgina Arevalo; former Isabel Vice Mayor Godfrey Alcantara; Kananga Mayor Manuel Torres; and Albuera Mayor Sixto dela Victoria.

Marcos’ running mate Duterte was not present at the Ormoc sortie.

The Marcos family matriarch, Imelda Marcos, hails from Leyte.
