John Batiste: His life in music and the arts

Grammy-award winner John Batiste started from the roost of New Orleans culture and on becoming one of the biggest names in the Music Industry.
Known for being the lead singer of the house band on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, Batiste is more than just a boy who came from New Orleans.
He started producing his album New Orleans, which was entitled "Times". Growing up in a family of jazz artists, John continues to develop his style.
While studying at Julliard, Batiste began making his new music and releasing his 2nd album called "Live in New York: At the Rubin Museum of Art."
The artists had the opportunity to perform and travel to places like the United States, London, Spain, and Paris.
Fast-forward to 2022. Bartiste made his mark on the music industry, working with Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross for the Pixar movie "Soul." The team won the award for the Best Original Score at the Academy Awards in 2021.
Leading with 11 nominations at the recent Grammy Awards, Batiste won the major award for Album of the year for his album "We Are." The artist gave his speech by acknowledging the other nominees, and how their music keeps him inspired.
“You know, I really, I believe this to my core—there is no best musician, the best artist, best dancer, best actor,” he said.
Batiste also took the award for Best Music Video and Best American Roost Performance.
“The creative arts are subjective, and they reach people at a point in their lives when they need it most. It’s like a song or an album is made, and it almost has a radar to find the person when they need it the most,” he said. (Carissa Alcantara)
