Duterte takes to the dance floor as daughter Kitty turns 18

President Duterte took a quick break from being the country's leader to dance with his daughter Veronica "Kitty" Duterte on her 18th birthday in Davao City on the evening of April 9.

The moment was captured by Duterte's former chief legal counsel and now senatorial aspirant Salvador Panelo.

Panelo posted a one-minute video of the father-and-daughter dance on his Facebook page.

"Happening Now: The President dancing with his precious daughter Kitty on her debut! Happy birthday, Kitty," Panelo wrote in his Facebook post.

Duterte was a Barong Tagalog for the occasion while the debutante donned a gown created by fashion designer Mak Tumang, the designer behind Catriona Gray's gown when she competed in Miss Universe in 2018.

Meanwhile, Panelo serenaded Kitty by singing Sharon Cuneta's "Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas."

Kitty is President Duterte's fourth and youngest child. She is his daughter with his common-law wife, Honeylet AvanceÃ±a.

Duterte has three children with his former wife, Elizabeth Zimmerman: Davao City Congressman Paolo, Davao City Mayor and vice-presidential aspirant Sara, and Davao City Vice Mayor Sebastian.
