Quezon City has recorded on Thursday, March 31, a new all-time low of 151 active Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) cases with no new deaths and an average of 16 new cases per day over the week.
“The last time we recorded the lowest number of active cases was in December 2021, with 165 cases. Then it went up again due to the Omicron variant,” City Epidemiology and Disease Surveillance Unit (CESU) head Dr. Rolly Cruz said.
Out of 142 barangays in the city, there are now 53 barangays or 37 percent with zero active cases over the past two weeks.
“This is a welcome development for us in the city, and we want to thank every QCitizen for your sense of responsibility which made this possible,” Mayor Joy Belmonte said.
As of March 31, the city has administered more than 5.57 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines, with 2.56 million adults and minors receiving their first dose and 2.4 million individuals fully vaccinated.
