Negros town unveils P60-M public market

BACOLOD CITY -- The municipal government of Hinoba-an in Negros Occidental has unveiled its new public market on Thursday.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and municipal officials led by Mayor Ernesto Estrao led the inauguration rites.

The new public market cost P60 million, and was funded through the Municipal Development Fund Office, and the provincial government.

Estrao said the market was primarily designed to be an agricultural “bagsakan,” that will boost the local economy.

For his part, Lacson said the market administration is a challenge not only to the local officials but also to the vendors and residents of Hinobaan town.

A clean and orderly market makes a good impression of the town, which will lead to more local development, the governor added.

Meanwhile, Estrao thanked Lacson for the realization of the town’s project and for the continued support to their municipality.
