It’s April 1... or is it?
If there is a time to be truly vigilant, it is today April Fools’ Day. While its exact origin is still to be discovered historians believe that this infamous holiday stems back to 1582, “when France switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar,” according to History.com. This shifted the celebration of New Year’s Day from April 1 to January 1. People fail to remember the change became the target of jeering and were dubbed “April fools.”
While people now know when is the right date to give others their best wishes for the new year, the spirit of humor is still alive during the first day of April with everyone pulling pranks and jokes for some good laughs. So if you’re confused, here are some April Fools’ Day pranks brands have been doing so far to help you not make a fool out of yourself.

Scientists find microplastics in blood for the first time
Not a prank! After polluting the Earth’s waters, terrains, creatures, plastic makes its way to the human body as a Dutch study published in the Environment International journal revealed that nearly 80 percent of the 22 examined health workers have microplastics in their blood samples.

April 1 may be dedicated to laughter and jokes, but it is also the day that leads to April 22, Earth Day. This year, Earth Day is celebrated with the theme “Invest In Our Planet,” which focuses “on the effects of climate change on the planet that we all share and what efforts are being made in the real world to mitigate it” and to encourage “business leaders to get on board with a sustainable future or get out of the way.”
