Aprilia adds adventure scooter to its lineup

SR GT 200 makes Philippine debut

Aprilia adds some excitement to the everyday commute with the arrival of the SR GT. First introduced in Milan, Italy in 2021, the Aprilia SR GT is a compact GT scooter designed to re-inject the fun into everyday riding or over long distances and less travelled paths.

The SR GT takes design inspiration from Aprilia’s extensive history in road racing and the enduro world. Riders will be delighted by its active riding position and motorcycle-inspired wide, naked handlebar. To take on obstacles in the city or out of it, it features long-travel suspension and increased ground clearance. These are paired with tires with an “all terrain” tread design for better grip on surfaces like asphalt to cobblestones and white roads. The rider can also shift from an active position to a more relaxed style with its ergonomic floor that allows for varying foot positions. Under the seat is a 25-liter under-seat compartment can accommodate a full-face helmet.

All of this is combined with Aprilia’s trademark sporty design, the latest i-GET engines (174cc) with a Start & Stop system, and comprehensive equipment that includes full LED lights, LCD instrumentation and the Aprilia MIA connectivity system (optional).

The instrumentation is fully digital, characterized by a large LCD display providing vehicle data, as well as a wide range of travel information, selectable by the Mode button. The optional Aprilia MIA connectivity system allows connection to a smartphone via Bluetooth and displays call and messages notifications. The system also enables call management, voice commands or playing music.

The SR GT was designed to make any trip a thrill. This is thanks to the enduro approach behind its creation. It’s built on a double cradle frame with high-strength steel tubing. It’s paired with long-travel suspension developed specifically for this model. The front boasts of a Showa fork while the rear features two double-acting Showa shock absorbers with coil springs. It’s brought to a stop with discs both in front and behind. This configuration, combined with CBS and ABS braking system boosts control, comfort and safety, especially over uneven surfaces. Finally, it tips the scales at just 144 kg with a full tank. That tank has a generous nine-liter capacity translating to a range of roughly 350 km.

Powering the SR GT 200 is a 174cc single-cylinder, which boasts 17.4 hp of power at 8,500 rpm and 16.5 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. It’s paired with a CVT transmission with a larger clutch for flexible power curve.

All models in the Aprilia SR GT range are equipped with the Start & Stop system that uses a brushless motor installed directly on the crankshaft for quieter start, increased lightness and reliability, and lower fuel consumption. The Start & Stop system automatically switches off the engine 1 to 5 seconds after the scooter has stopped. A slight twist of the throttle instantly re-starts the engine, in total silence.

All of this helps the SR GT to achieve fuel consumption of 38.5 km/l.

The Aprilia SR GT is available in three colors, Aprilia Black, Street Grey and Infinity Blue, each paired with silvery grey footpegs, sides and passenger grab handles. The wheels are black, the saddle black with grey stitching.

The SR GT comes in Standard (P219,000) and Sport (P227,000) trim. The Sport version comes in typical liveries of Aprilia sports bikes like Street Gold, Iridium Grey and Red Raceway matte colour schemes, combined with red painted wheels and a two-color black and grey saddle with red stitching.

Each Aprilia SR GT comes with an extended 12-month warranty beyond the standard 24 month term, equating to a three-year warranty to grant you peace of mind.
