Drug suspect nabbed, P554K shabu recovered in Pasig City buy-bust

Operatives of the Eastern Police District (EPD) arrested a high value individual (HVI) and recovered from him P554,100 worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in Barangay Manggahan, Pasig City on Monday, March 7.

Brig. Gen. Orlando Yebra Jr., EPD director, identified the suspect as Wilfredo Barroda Jr., 41.

The operation was conducted by members of the District Drug Enforcement Unit (DDEU), District Intelligence Division (DID), District Special Operations Unit (DSOU), District Explosive and Canine Unit (DECU)-EPD, F2- District Mobile Force Battalion (DMFB)-EPD among others.

The operatives posed as buyers and arrested the suspect during their transaction at around 8:30 p.m. at Amang Rodriguez Avenue, Tierra Verde Village, Barangay Manggahan, Pasig City.

Police recovered a single sachet containing an undetermined amount of suspected shabu worth P30,500, and four sachets containing some 77 grams of suspected shabu worth P523,600.

Also confiscated from the suspect were a P500 bill, and 30 pieces of P1,000 bills in buy-bust money, and a black cell phone pouch.

The suspect, and the recovered evidence, are now in the custody of the Pasig City Police Station (CPS).

The suspect will be charged for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165, the “Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.”
