Pasay City Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano declared six barangays in the city as drug-free on Monday, March 7, after the flag-raising ceremony held at the Pasay City Hall grounds.
Rubiano gave Barangays 33, 88, 96,112,115, and 163 certificates after they were declared drug free for eradicating illegal drugs in their community in December last year.
Aside from focusing on bringing down the number of active COVID-19 cases in the city, the city government is also active in getting rid of users and peddlers of illegal drugs in the city.
The mayor said in maintaining the peace and order in the city, all forms of crimes and criminality, especially the use of illegal drugs, should be addressed.
Rubiano said the Pasay City Anti-Drug Abuse Council, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police will continue to monitor these barangays to make sure that they will sustain their fight against illegal drugs.
