John Lloyd Cruz to return to the big screen

John Lloyd Cruz just confirmed that he is all set to star in a new film.

He described it as a "passion project" that he has long wanted to see fruition.

Playing his leading lady in the film is Jasmine Curtis-Smith.

According to John Lloyd, he and producers picked Jasmine simply because she is "magaling."

"And bagay sa kanya ang role," he added.

He didn't provide details.

Note that John Lloyd and Jasmine worked together recently via the former's GMA sitcom "Happy ToGetHer."

John Lloyd enthused, "Ang galing niya. Kaya niyang mag-transition from, like, seryosong materyal to a sitcom."

It has been a while since John Lloyd appeared on film.

The last time was in "Culion" in 2019.

It is no surprise that he is quite excited to jump back into it again.

"Matagal na," he said. "Sana talaga matuloy na this year."
