GOSSIP GIRL: Stars who got robbed go to social media to warn public

Last week, actress Nadia Montenegro’s mother and a TikTok star were robbed on separate occasions. Both went to social media to warn the public to be careful and vigilant. 

TikTok Superstar Jules Eusebio known as the Dub King of Tiktok was robbed inside a popular coffee shop in a mall complex in Pasay City. When the robber got his bag with all his car and house keys and cash, The Dub King tried to stop the perpetrator, but the robber had a gun. 

Gossip Girl was able to interview the TikToks superstar, who has 769,000 followers. “I made an attempt to stop him, but he pulled his gun from his jacket saka tinutok sa akin. Honestly, I was waiting for the gun to blow in my face. I was terrified. I thought it was my end. In this incident, more than just justice, I would like to use my social media platforms to spread awareness so that we all learn from this experience. Katatapos pa lang ng pandemiya at lahat tayo bumabawi pa lang sa mga nawala sa atin. Mahirap ang buhay pero hindi pagnanakaw o paggawa ng krimen ang solusyon para maitawid ang lahat. (I know all of us want to get back what we lost during the pandemic, times are tough, but crime or stealing is not the solution.) ” Eusebio’s had P5,000 cash stolen from him, his passport, his home and car keys, ATM and credit cards. But he immediately called the bank, so his cards were blocked.

Unfortunately, this was not the case with Nadia's mom when her bag was stolen without her knowledge from her grocery cart in a members’ only supermarket chain in Novaliches. In a few minutes, after stealing her mother’s ATM cards, they were able to withdraw her retirement money of P130,000. When she went to social media about the incident, she found out that there were a lot of others who were victimized in the same supermarket by this syndicate who the Quezon City Police District at Camp Karingal and Station 16 Pasong Putik Quezon City, were able to identify swiftly in less than 24 hours after the complaint. 

The actress and cooking show host asked Gossip Girl if she can use my column to show gratitude to the police that helped her mother. “Giselle, I would like to thank P/Brig. General Remus Medina, P/Col. Eleazar Matta, P/Col. Redrico Maranan of Camp Karingal and Lt. Col Mepania of Station 16 for a job well done. Because they acted so fast, they were able to identify six members of the syndicate who they are now looking for, and the driver is already behind bars.” Kudos to the Quezon City police for your quick response.

Just a warning to everyone: Covid-19 is not the only thing to watch out for when you go out. Take care of your belongings, especially in supermarkets and crowded areas. Be vigilant. Choose establishments and restaurants with security guards. Bring only what you need. Lastly, before you leave your homes, pray for protection ask Jesus to cover you with his most precious blood to protect you from Covid-19 and  bad people with bad intentions.
