Another lay group backs Robredo

The Lipa Archdiocesan Council of the Laity is endorsing presidential candidate Leni Robredo in the May 2022 polls.

In a statement, the group believes she embodies the characteristics of a good leader.

"We believe that a good leader must be truthful, honest, just and be able to serve the people before his personal desires," the group said.

"Maria Leonor 'Leni' Robredo embodies these characteristics as can be seen in her several projects and programs for the marginalized communities, and the youth," it added.

Last month, the Sangguniang Laiko ng Pilipinas (LAIKO) also expressed their support for Robredo.

"With our current political-economic turmoil and the pandemic situation in the Philippines, we firmly believe that Vice President Leni Robredo, a God-fearing person, is the most capable candidate for the Presidency, and we urge our constituents, if possible, to consider the same," said LAIKO President Raymond Dakiel Cruz Jr. in a statement.

"Hence, we explicitly endorse Vice President Leni Robredo to the highest position of our land," he added.
