CAVITE – Volunteer organizations supporting Vice President Leni Robredo condemned red-tagging as well as allegations that people were paid to be at a campaign rally in General Trias on Friday, March 4.

The campaign rally, held at General Trias Sports Park, was attended by an estimated number of 47,000 supporters.

On Saturday, March 5, Cavite 7th District Rep. Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla alleged that a political campaign in Cavite held the night before paid P500 each to attendees.

"May nagbabayad ng P500 sa bawat aattend. Tapos may jeep, may staging area, may t-shirt, may uniporme – kumpleto. Kaya alam mo na hindi indigenous eh, kasi naka-uniporme. Ang uniporme nila, siyempre, pink (There are those who paid P500 to every attendee. Then, there are jeeps, a staging area, t-shirt, uniform – it's complete. You know it's not indigenous because they're in uniform. Their uniform is pink)," Remulla said.

Remulla also alleged that attendees had ties to the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NDA-NDF).

Youth Vote for Leni - Cavite Chapter released a statement on Facebook condemning the allegations.

"Ang buong delegado ng Youth Vote for Leni - Cavite ay kusang lumahok, nang walang kapalit at hindi pinilit, sa Cavite People's Rally at sa lahat ng activities na ginanap noong Biyernes (The whole delegation of Youth Vote for Leni - Cavite voluntarily joined, without expecting anything in return and on our own accord, the Cavite People's Rally and all activities held on Friday)," the statement said.

"Ang ganitong mga paratang mula sa isa sa matataas na opisyal ng lalawigan ay gawain ng isang iresponsableng lider (Allegations like these from one of the high officials of the province is a work of an irresponsible leader)."

Robredo People's Council – Cavite also defended the people who attended the campaign rally.

"Hindi kailangan may bayad, and Caviteño ay tapat at may dignidad (Payment is not needed, Caviteños are honest and have dignity)," the group said in a statement.

"Mapaminsala ang bintang na ang mga kabataan/estudyante na lumahok ay aktibista, makakaliwa at sinanay ng NDF (It is harmful to allege that that the youth/students who joined are activitists, leftists, and trained by the NDF)."

Following his statements, the hashtag #BoyingSinungaling" was trending on Twitter over the weekend.
