PAGASA: Rain showers, thunderstorms to persist in VisMin due to LPA
The low pressure area (LPA) spotted east of Surigao del Norte is expected to continuously bring rain showers in most parts Visayas, Mindanao, and even southern Luzon until Tuesday, March 8, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday, March 6.
“Patuloy nating mino-monitor ang LPA na nasa loob na ng ating Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) habang lumalapit ito sa kalupaan ng Visayas at Mindanao (We continue to monitor the LPA that is already within our PAR as it approaches the Visayas and Mindanao landmass),” said PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja in a public weather forecast.

The LPA was last spotted 335 kilometers (km) east of Surigao City, Surigao del Norte. This weather disturbance remains less likely to develop into a tropical depression, but Estareja warned that it will bring rains in most parts of Visayas and Mindanao.
Residents of central Visayas, eastern Visayas, Caraga, northern Mindanao, and Davao Region were warned to remain vigilant against the possible flash floods and landslides that the weather disturbance may bring.
Meanwhile, a fair weather condition will prevail in Luzon, especially in northern Luzon, central Luzon, and Metro Manila due to the easterlies.
