Blacklist International finally notched its first win in the MPL Philippines Season 9 following its sweep of Bren Esports, 2-0, on Saturday, March 5.

After struggling in the first two weeks of the tournament, it seemed like the M3 World Champions have developed a new code as Kent “Kevier” Lopez and Kiel “Oheb” Soriano took turns in powering Blacklist in the sweep.
The two carries of Blacklist starred in the series opener as Kevier finally settled down and shone on his Ling with a 4-0-7 KDA while Oheb provided support with his own perfect game of 8-0-4 KDA on the Clint in the squad’s 15-7 Game 1 win.
Key pick-offs from Kevier’s Ling set the tone for Blacklist as it overcame the early pressure during objective takes behind the efforts of Flaptzy’s Yu Zhong and Joy boy’s Ruby.
A long standoff for the Luminous Lord at the 23-minute mark of the game made the difference in the match as Kevier’s Ling secured the major objective on the counter engage after Bren used up the Yu Zhong and Phewww’s Kagura ultimate.
Finally finding its groove, Blacklist showed no let up in the second game as banked on a huge team fight for the 10-minute Lord to seize control of the match. Blacklist even scored a four-man wipe during that skirmish as it took down Bren’s towers one-by-one during the Lord push.
Blacklist continued to pad the lead after it emerged victorious in the ensuing clashes but a two Saxa Lord steals in the late game created some space and pumped some life to Bren.
Blacklist, however, simply had its answers as it kept on finding a kill trade to keep Bren at bay and eventually win the series after an 18-8 domination in the second game.
Kevier finished with a 5-1-5 KDA on the Roger while Oheb exploded for a 9-3-4 line.
Blacklist improves to a 1-4 record while Bren remained winless in five games.
