Rain showers, thunderstorms over most of PH due to easterlies – PAGASA
The easterlies, also known as warm and humid winds from the Pacific Ocean, will bring isolated rain showers and thunderstorms over southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao in the next 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Friday, March 4.

“Patuloy ang epekto ng easterlies . Nagdadala ito ng isolated rain showers at thunderstorms sa southern Luzon, Visayas, at Mindanao (Easterlies continues to affect the country. It brings isolated rain showers and thunderstorms in southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao),” said PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja in a public weather forecast.
Meanwhile, based on the State weather bureau’s tropical cyclone threat potential forecast, there is a possibility that a low pressure area (LPA) will form and develop in the Philippine boundary in the coming weekend.
“Mababa ‘yung chance na itong weather disturbance ay maging isang bagyo, subalit tatawirin nito ang Philippine sea hanggang sa makalapit sa Visayas and Mindanao (The weather disturbance is less likely to develop into a tropical cyclone, but it will traverse the Philippine sea near the Visayas and Mindanao),” said Estareja.
Residents of Visayas and Mindanao were warned to remain vigilant against light to moderate with at times heavy rains showers and its possible impacts beginning the weekend until early next week.
