PRESERVATION! Nadine Lustre cries foul over planned bridge in Siargao

Actress Nadine Lustre recently flooded her social media account, sending a powerful message.

In there, she featured the Secret Beach of Siargao, which she deemed as one of the "most peaceful" spots on the island.

That's why it makes her "so sad" when she found out that people are planning to build a bridge there.

She related it will "totally destroy" the area.

"It will also destroy the mangroves, sea grass... disrupting the natural habitat of other species living in this PROTECTED AREA," Nadine related.

"Homes of locals will be destroyed and jobs will be lost as a result of this bridge," she added.

According to her, the island hasn't completely recovered from Typhoon Odette.

She reiterated: "People are starving, homeless and dealing with trauma every day."

Nadine wishes these were "more prioritized" than anything else.

Later, the Viva star declared that people fall in love with Siargao because of its "raw, natural beauty and its community."

"MALINAO IS ALREADY BEAUTIFUL AS IT IS," she pointed out. "SECRET BEACH SHOULD BE PRESERVED."

The 28-year-old singer-actress maintained: "Improvement isn't always about pouring concrete. If we're all respectful and protective towards the environment, our lives including every other living thing that co-exists with us will improve greatly."

She then encouraged locals to come to a "special meeting" and vote "no" to the construction of Union-Malinao Bridge as to be implemented by the Department of Public Works and Highways Region 13.

Nadine also shared a three-part screenshot of an "important message" from residents of Siargao.

"144 MILLION PESOS IS ABOUT TO BE WASTED INSTEAD OF BEING USED TO HELP US, ODETTE VICTIMS."
