P34-M worth of 'shabu' seized in Negros city

BACOLOD CITY - The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) - Negros Occidental seized about 5,000 grams of suspected shabu worth P34 million in Barangay Old Poblacion, Escalante City, Negros Occidental on Friday, March 4.

Arrested was Vicente Sepuesca, 42, of Barangay Sum-ag here.

Agent Bamboo, team leader of PDEA-Negros Occidental, said that Sepuesca just arrived at the city’s seaport on board his SUV from Cebu when he was busted by the operatives.

The recovered shabu from the suspect was sealed in a Chinese tea bag packaging.

Authorities suspected that the contraband came from Cebu or the National Capital Region (NCR).

According to Sepuesca, he was just asked to get the items and deliver them to someone in the province. He said he was in Cebu to buy something for their house.

With the huge volume of recovered illegal drugs, Sepuesca can be considered a high value individual.

Sepuesca is detained at Escalante City Police Station pending the filing of drug charges against him.

The buy-bust operation was also in coordination with the local police station, the Philippine Coast Guard, and Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office.
