A man wanted in Agusan Del Norte for violation of Republic Act 9262, the Anti-Violence Against Women and Children, was arrested in a condominium along Taft Avenue, Malate, Manila, on Friday, March 4.
Brig. Gen. Leo "Paco" Francisco, Manila Police District (MPD) director, identified the suspect as Rey Mark Magcayan Broñola, a resident of Unit #11 at Victoria De Manila.
Based on the report of Maj. Cicero Pura, chief of District Special Operation Unit (DSOU) of the MPD, the police served the warrant of arrest against Broñola in front of the condominium at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday. The suspect has reportedly been abusing his wife verbally and physically.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Judge Emmanuel Evero Escatron, presiding judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 1 of 10th Judicial Region in Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte, on March 1, 2022.
The suspect will be charged for violating Section 5 (1) and Section 6 of R.A 9262 with a recommended bail of P72,000, the police report said.
