Five persons facing criminal charges and placed under the wanted list by the police were arrested in Las Pinas City on Thursday, March 3.
Col. Jaime Santos, local police chief, said members of the Warrant and Subpoena Section (WSS) served warrants of arrest to persons placed under wanted list after Southern Police District Director Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg ordered an intensification of the campaign against wanted persons.
Heliton Co, 56, who is facing charges for violation of RA 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Children) was arrested at about 11:45 a.m. along Aria St., Barangay Talon Dos after a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Mildred Jacinto of Family Court Branch 2 with a P36,000 bail recommended was served against him.
Santos said that at about 1:30 p.m., members of the WSS proceeded at Las Pinas Village, Pamplona 3 for the arrest of Abegai Olais, 33, who is facing illegal recruitment charges armed with an arrest warrant issued by Judge Phoeve Castillo Meer of Regional Trial Court Branch 275 with bail recommended at P120,000.
Another suspect facing charges for violation of RA 9262 was arrested at about 2:15 along Job St., Barangay Manuyo Dos, Las Pinas City.
The suspect, German Mato, 30, was arrested after a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Elisabeth Y-Guray of Regional Trial Court Branch 199 was served against him with a recommended bail of P6,000.
Two other suspects, identified as Edgar Dumanig, 47, and Antonio Almoquera, 55, both placed under the wanted list of the police were also arrested.
Dumanig was arrested at about 3:10 p.m. along Aratelis St., Barangay CAA, after a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Marcelino Rodriguez II of Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 42 for falsification of public document with a recommended bail of P12,000 was served against him.
Almoquera who was facing charges of disturbance of public order, slander, and direct assault was arrested at about 4:30 p.m. along Dafodil St., Vergonville Subdivision, Pulanglupa Dos.
The warrants of arrest was issued against Almoquera by Judge Aida Dacara Coliflores-Romero of Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 122 with a recommended bail of P18,000 each.
