Ex-cop shot dead in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY - A dismissed police officer was gunned down along Lizares extension, Barangay 40 here on Thursday, March 3.

The victim was identified as Ryan Lomugdang, 41, of Celine Homes, Barangay Estefania here.

Maj. Leo Estopa, head of Police Station 6, said that Lomugdang was on his way home on board his motorcycle when two unidentified men on a motorcycle tailed and shot him.

Estopa said Lomugdang was rushed to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital where he later died.

Lomugdang reportedly told his wife that he would be meeting someone outside.

Police recovered from the crime scene five fired cartridges of an unknown firearm.

Estopa said Lomugdang was dismissed from the police service in 2017 after he tested positive for drug use.
