DSWD launches free e-learning training course for handling OSAEC victims
As part of its efforts in creating a safer internet for children, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through the Inter-Agency Council Against Child Pornography (IACACP), launched an e-learning training course to equip social workers in handling victim-survivors of online sexual abuse and exploitation of children (OSAEC).

In a press statement issued on March 4, DSWD said that the free training course uses “asynchronous and blended modalities” which may be accessed by the participants depending on their period of availability.
“The online courses include three hours of interactive lessons, seven hours of video lessons, and links to external sources among others. Each lesson will be followed by quizzes, group discussion forums, and reflection journals to gauge and track the participants’ learning and course progress,” said DWSD.
The Department likewise disclosed that the online video lessons were produced by practitioners and experts. These were also designed to equip participants through innovative and interactive capacity building.
The DSWD, together with its partner agencies and organizations, vow to continuously create a “safer internet for children” by means of protecting them from violence and online abuse.
