The virtual voter education campaign of Democracy Watch Philippines dubbed as Vote Right 2022 has earned the support of the Commission on Elections (Comelec).

Comelec Acting Chairman Socorro Inting believes such an approach is fitting and effective in reaching the greatest number of participants.
"Considering that we are still in the middle of the pandemic and cellphones and laptops remain to be the top means of outlet for our youth who are stuck at home," she said on Friday, March 4, during the signing of their Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with DemWatch in Intramuros, Manila.
"In the conduct of these virtual campaigns, may we always impress upon our young voters the fact that the nation is counting on them, not just in the responsibilities they are going to take in the future, but also in the choices that they make today," added Inting.
The poll official also commended DemWatch for its firm commitment to educating young voters for the forthcoming 2022 National and Local Elections.
"Unlike the other MOAs entered into by this Commission, this Memorandum of Agreement with DemWatch has for its focus voter education among the Filipino youth and first-time voters. And rightly so, young voters actually constitute a huge chunk of the total number of registered voters," said Inting.
"Hence, putting emphasis on educating the youth shall definitely create a big impact on the selection of our leaders come May 9," she added.
Vote Right 2022 is a series of seminars and lectures to be conducted in partnership with various schools, universities and non-government organizations nationwide using virtual platforms.
