The police arrested six persons and dismantled another suspected drug den in an operation in Taguig on March 3.
Brig. Gen. Jimili Macaraeg, Southern Police District (SPD) director, said P3 million worth of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) was seized during the police operation at about 10 p.m. along Amihan Street, Barangay Ususan in Taguig.

Police identified the arrested suspects as Menandro Martin, 46; Emerito Eusebio Jr., 53; Paul John Miranda, 29; Neil Corpuz, 52; Paul Santos, 34; and Nicanor Radores, 40.
The buy-bust operation was conducted by the SPD’s Drug Enforcement Unit together with the District Intelligence Division, District Mobile Force Battalion and Taguig police’s Substation 4.
During the operation, the six suspects were arrested and seven plastic sachets containing suspected shabu were confiscated. The plastic sachets contained shabu weighing 450 grams with an estimated total value of P3.06 million.
In addition, the police also seized one .45-caliber firearm, one magazine, seven .45-caliber live ammunition, a digital weighing scale, P1,000 buy-bust money and P4,000 boodle money.
All the arrested suspects were brought to SPD for documentation. The police are preparing to file cases against the suspects for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) in relation to the Omnibus Election Code.
The Commission on Elections has imposed a nationwide gun ban from Jan. 9 to June 8 in connection with the May 9 national and local elections.
The gun, ammunition and drugs will be turned over to the SPD Forensic Unit for chemical analysis and ballistics exam.
“We consider this as one of the major drug hauls in SPD. This signifies our unending commitment to the government versus the drug menace in our country. I assure you that we will not stop pursuing illegal drug syndicates and I am positive that we can succeed in our battle with the public's help,” said Macaraeg.
