A phreatomagmatic burst occurred at Taal’s Main Crater, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said on Thursday, March 31.
Seismic records and visual cameras around the volcano recorded the phreatomagmatic burst on Thursday, March 31 at 10:39 a.m.

Meanwhile, in its 8 a.m. bulletin, Phivolcs said that Alert Level 3 remained hoisted over Taal Volcano. This means that there is a magmatic intrusion at the Main Crater which may further drive succeeding eruptions.
Phivolcs reminds the public that the entire Taal Volcano Island (TVI) is a permanent danger zone and entry into TVI, as well as the high risk barangays of Agoncillo and Laurel remains prohibited.
