More than 46,000 candidates are running in the May 2022 polls.

Based on the data released by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Thursday, March 31, there are 46,193 bets in the May 9 polls.
Ten candidates are running for President, nine for Vice President, 64 for Senator, and 177 for Partylist with 929 nominees.
Nearly 700 or 690 are running for Member, House of Representatives; 259 for Governor; 219 for Vice Governor; 1,891 for Member, Sangguniang Panlalawigan; 4,316 for Mayor; 3,824 for Vice Mayor; and 34,911 for Member, Sangguniang Panlungsod/Bayan.
There are 18,100 seats that are for grabs in the upcoming polls.
These are 1 for President, 1 for Vice President, 12 for Senator, 63 for Party-list; 253 for Member, House of Representatives; 81 for Governor, 81 for Vice Governor, 782 Member, Sangguniang Panlalawigan; 1,634 for Mayor, 1,634 for Vice Mayor, 13,558 for Member, Sangguniang Panlungsod/Bayan.
