CAGAYAN – Concerned agencies have been tapped to help the Philippine Coast Guard rescuers find the two fishermen who went missing off the coast of Claveria.
The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office MDRRMO has coordinated with Cagayan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Head Col. Darwin Sacramed for additional personnel to locate missing fishermen.
The missing fishermen were identified as Wilfredo Galleto, 52, and Antonio Dela Peña, 60, both residents of Barangay Taggat.
The rescuers, according to the report, have already toured the coastal areas of Claveria, Dalupiri, Fuga, Pamplona as well as the eastward coastal areas.
Based on a sketchy report, Galleto and Dela Peña were actually with other fishermen, but they had decided to stay and continue fishing, even as the rest of the other fishermen opted to go home.
According to the families Galleto and Dela Peña, the two have not returned yet since March 27, a Sunday. This prompted them to report the matter to the authorities.
“Nakikiusap na rin ang pamilya ng dalawa na matulungan ang mga ito, na kapag nakita ay agad na ipag alam sa authorities” the report quoted the families as saying.
