Malolos Cathedral to candidates: 'Respect places of worship'

This was the appeal of a parish in Malolos to candidates in the May 2022 polls and their supporters.

"Please advise your supporters and campaign personnel to show respect in all places of worship," the Immaculate Conception Cathedral and Minor Basilica (Malolos Cathedral) said in a Facebook post.

"There are sacraments and prayers being held, especially on Sundays," it added.

The Cathedral particularly asked candidates and their supporters to lower the volume of their campaign jingles whenever they pass by places of worship so as not to distract church goers.

"Kindly turn off or lower the volume of your campaign jingles so that the faithful will not be distracted in their prayers," it said.

The campaign period for national candidates started Feb. 8 while for local candidates it started March 25.
