Former senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito is optimistic about his chances of getting a successful Senate comeback bid as he sees an improvement in his ranking in the latest senatorial preferential survey conducted by the OCTA Research Group.
Ejercito’s ranking climbed to 7th place in the OCTA Research’s March 5 to 10 survey. Previously, he ranked 12th in the OCTA survey conducted from March 12 to 17.
The senatorial candidate has recently seen an improvement in his ranking in the latest Social Weather Station (SWS) and Pulso ng Pilipino surveys conducted by the Issues and Advocacy Center (The Center).
In the SWS survey conducted from Feb. 25 to 28, Ejercito placed 7th in the most preferred senatorial candidate, while placing 8th in the Pulso ng Pilipino senatorial survey from March 7 to 13.
“Ako’y nagpapasalamat sa ating Panginoon, sa inyong lahat, sa inyong tiwala at suporta. Sa mga lumabas na survey ay talagang tumataas na tayo (I’m thankful to God, to everyone, for your trust and support. The latest surveys show we are improving),” Ejercito said in a statement.
“(We are) steadily climbing...There is no substitute for good performance and track record,” Ejercito further said.
“Gumaganda ang ating rating (Our ratings are improving) despite of the situation. Napakahirap po ng aking pinagdadaanan. Ang hirap na mangampanya na independent, pag mag-isa ka (We have a hard time. It’s difficult to run as an independent, when you are alone),” he added.
The former lawmaker said he believes he owe these improvements to the growing public awareness about his role in the passage of the Universal Healthcare Law and the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Law.
Ejercito is the one of the first senatorial candidates to be endorsed by President Duterte. Four presidential candidates also support his senatorial bid.
