Davao de Oro, Davao del Norte execs back UniTeam during massive rallies


CARMEN, Davao del Norte--The UniTeam presidential-vice presidential tandem of Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. and Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte garnered the support of officials from Davao De Oro and Davao Del Norte during a series of massive campaign sorties around the region.

During a UniTeam rally at around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 30, in Carmen, Davao Del Norte, ex-Gov. Anthony Del Rosario, re-electionist Vice Gov. Rey Uy,mand gubernatorial candidate Roy Catalan backed the campaign of the Marcos-Duterte alliance, who both led the rally.

The crowd in Carmen were eventually riled up to the point that the police had to intervene as one woman had problems breathing due to the crowd's excitement and the extreme heat at that time.

At one point, the host even had to call the crowd's attention as the railing surrounding the stage was on the verge of collapsing due to the crowd's jostling and pushing.

"Based on surveys that we have, both private and public, Marcos is about 70 to 80 percent already dito sa Mindanao," Mayor Duterte told reporters during an ambush interview after the Carmen rally.

Alongside the Marcos-Duterte tandem, 11 members of the UniTeam Senate slate were present at the Carmen rally namely, Robin Padilla, Herbert Bautista, Harry Roque, Gibo Teodoro, Jinggoy Estrada, Larry Gadon, Loren Legarda, Rodante Marcoleta, Win Gatchalian, Mark Villar, and Gringo Honasan.

"We will try our best to deliver for Bongbong Marcos in Davao region and based on our survey, he is doing well and we can do more for him," she said.

However, she also told journalists that she does not know if her father, Presiden Duterte, will endorse Marcos's presidential bid this May.

Meanwhile, a few hours later during a UniTeam rally in Pantukan, Davao De Oro, Gov. Jayvee Tyron Uy, Vice Gov. Maricar Zamora, Davao De Oro 1st district Rep. Manuel Zamora similarly backed the Marcos-Duterte family alliance.

"We are confident that BBM-Sara tandem will win big in our province," Zamora told reporters.

The Davao region is considered a Duterte bailiwick considering Inday Sara and her father's long history as Davao City mayors. The vice presidential aspirant's brother, Sebastian Duterte, is the incumbent vice mayor of Davao City and is running for its mayorship as well.
