Jerom Lastimosa answered the demands of Adamson coach Nash Racela by leading the Soaring Falcons in routing the University of the East Red Warriors, 82-66, in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 84 men's basketball tournament at the Mall of Asia Arena Tuesday, March 29.

Racela asked for consistency and Lastimosa immediately delivered as the 5-foot-10 guard fired 11 of his 14 points in the first quarter alone on 4-of-4 shooting, which included two triples, to go with two rebounds, two assists, and one block.
The new Falcons tactician couldn't be more satisfied but left a few reminders for Adamson's go-to guy.
"I think it's getting there slowly; he still has a lot of things to learn. Hindi kami magkukulang sa kanya," said Racela. "We will keep on reminding him on how he will improve his game on both ends. His ability to score and to create, it's already a gift na binigay sa kanya but there's still a lot more that he needs to learn kaya we're here to help him."
In Adamson's 71-69 loss to De La Salle in the opening last March 26, Lastimosa fired 18 points on 6-of-14 shooting on top of two rebounds and two assists.
But getting four personal fouls later hurt the Falcons' momentum despite getting their first lead of the game at 57-56 early in the fourth quarter sparked by Lastimosa himself.
It's still a learning process indeed as the Dumaguete native spitfire echoed his mentor's sentiments.
"Siguro like coach Nash said, I'm still learning kahit consistent ako sa game ko pero kailangan ko pa talaga ng more learnings talaga para mag-deliver ako," said Lastimosa.
"Syempre galing kami sa talo so 'yong mindset namin is kailangan talagang mag bounce back. So 'yon nga ang nangyari sa amin, but may learning naman kami sa pagkatalo namin so at this second game parang inano pa namin ma correct namin yung mga mali namin yung sa first game."
